PSTG has a flat organisational structure comprised of Partners, Principal Consultants, Project Managers and Senior Consultants. We focus very little attention on titles. We prefer to assemble our project teams based on the skills and experience required to successfully deliver the engagement, rather than age or tenure of the project team members. Depending on the context of the project at hand, individuals can have a variety of roles on particular assignments; including Engagement Lead, Consultant or Subject Matter Expert. In fact, it is expected that any individual will have several roles at the same time, depending on the particular projects that they are working on.
The Principal Consultant is a very senior position within PSTG, and has important management responsibilities for Project Delivery, Business Development, Practice Management and Culture Management.
Principal Consultants are expected to have the capacity for excellent client relationship development, solid business development, effective project management, and flawless delivery of a wide variety of consulting assignments. Principal Consultants are expected to develop a defined level of business through the pursuit of new clients and/or through forming, managing and enhancing existing client relationships. The individual must contribute to thought leadership in their areas of expertise and to be proactive in the management of their own and/or other practice areas. The Principal Consultant will have a key role in the regular and proactive promotion of the firm’s values to staff and clients, and must continually seek to enhance the organisation’s culture and commitment to ethical consulting practices.
Responsabilities - Project Delivery
- Deliver world-class project management from the point of engagement through the final deliverables and project close-out; ensuring all objectives are met, clients expectations are exceeded, providing a WOW factor for clients and thought leadership for the client and other project team members
- Experience working in a developing country environment
- Ensure that an excellent client relationship is built and maintained through the course of the engagement
- Effectively manage PSTG consultant staff and client resources, providing direction, oversight, and feedback to PSTG management during a project
- Execute projects that lead to creative and comprehensive deliverables that are based on sound approaches, tools and methodologies
- Deliver projects to scope, on time, and within budget
- Manage project budgets, including invoicing and tracking of project budget expenditures, and payment
- Seek input to ensure project deliverables are being met and project team members are serving the client wellthrough the course of the engagement
- Identify to a Partner (Project Lead or not) when an issue needs to be escalated
- Close engagements appropriately to ensure client satisfaction, and potential follow-on and future opportunities are identified
Business Development
- Maintain contact/relationships with past clients/employers
- Be proactive in seeking new contacts and networks
- Identify business opportunities and generate an annual target of US$400K in revenue; through new clients, past clients or from project follow-on opportunities
- Create strong client relations to facilitate follow-on work and to continue to develop and enhance the PSTG name and brand
- Lead the development of creative proposals which continue to differentiate PSTG from our competition and draw existing/new clients to our services – no cut and paste
- Maintain client contact, post engagement, to ensure ongoing satisfaction with our product/service and maintaining the client relationship
Practice Management
- Contribute on a regular basis to Practice strategies and tactics
- Identify new and emerging service opportunities / clients for developing and evolving the Practice
- Contribute to other PSTG Practices through joint initiatives and proposal opportunities
- Assist in the management of the Practice Sales and Staffing Tool (SST)
- Assist in the creation of marketing / collateral materials to promote our brand and increase client awareness
- Assist in the development of innovative tools and methodologies
Culture Management
- “Live” the PSTG Values and Principles and promote them to staff and clients
- Provide leadership and mentoring to other PSTG consultants
- Contribute to and lead firm wide activities
- Proactively consider and suggest enhancements to firm tools, methodologies, culture and values
- Promote cross practice development and synergies
- Provide opportunities for others in the firm to learn from your areas of technical specialty and market space expertise
Other
- Lead internal projects on behalf of the Practice, and company at large

Senior Consultants play a critical project delivery position at PSTG and have important responsibilities for Project Execution, Client Relationship, Business Development, and Culture Management.
Senior Consultants are expected to have the capacity for good client engagement, effective project management, and top-quality execution and delivery across a broad variety of consulting assignments. A Senior Consultant is expected to be familiar with a wide range of consulting skills and techniques, have a passion for problem solving, an excellent communicator and a great team member.
Business Development
- Generate follow-on projects and associated revenue through top quality project delivery
- Create strong client relations to facilitate follow-on work and to continue to develop and enhance the PSTG name and brand
- Identify business opportunities with current or past clients
- Participate in development of fresh and creative proposals which continue to differentiate PSTG from our competition and draw existing/new clients to our services – no cut and paste
- Maintain client contact, post engagement, to ensure ongoing satisfaction with our product/service and maintaining the client relationship
Practice Development
- Contribute on a regular basis to Practice strategies and tactics
- Identify new and emerging service opportunities / clients for developing and evolving the Practice

Requirements: Experience, Education, Knowledge and Expertise
Experience
- Three to five years work experience in a consulting or project-based work environment
- Experience with complex multi-faceted projects for large organizations - preferably in a public sector or state enterprise setting
- International consulting or project experience an asset
Education
- A Bachelors Degree in an appropriate area of specialisation – e.g. Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science etc
- A Post-Graduate Degree will be a definite asset
Knowledge and Expertise
- Experience in a variety of business transformation disciplines – e.g. strategy development, process reengineering, systems design and implementation, organizational redesign, change management, financial planning, business case development, project management etc
- Familiarity in the application of project tools, techniques and methodologies
- High quality verbal and written communication skills
- Outstanding interpersonal and relationship development skills
- A well-ordered and logical approach to analyzing problems
- The ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment with limited supervision or oversight
- Self-confidence to inspire client confidence and support
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team setting by contributing to team goals and working towards the goals and objectives of the assignment
- Ability to react and adjust positively to change and to new ways of doing things
Transformation Consultants - Caribbean Office
We are looking for self-motivated, high-performing individuals who are committed to delivering maximum value for our clients. You will be involved in all phases of the project lifecycle, including developing project objectives and methodology, gathering information, analysing and synthesizing findings, and generating recommendations. Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must, creativity and passion a given. Like all other PSTG consultants, you will be expected to constantly raise the bar in everything you do. You will also be involved in business development, proposal writing, and assisting with internal projects and processes.
In addition to 5-10 years of professional experience, preferably in a consulting capacity, the following attributes will be looked upon favourably:
- Masters of Business Administration or equivalent
- Experience working in a developing country environment
- Experience working on large scale public sector projects
- Experience in managing projects and resources is an asset
- Broad experience in business transformation, such as strategy development, organisational assessment and design, process re-engineering, business case development, technology evaluation and selection, performance measurement and evaluation
- Expertise in at least one specialised solution design area, such as: finance, technology, human resource management, e-business/e-government, health care, public sector reform, and public safety services (e.g. police, justice)
- Ability to build and maintain excellent client relationships
- Solid analytical, presentation and written communication skills
